Celebrating 90 Years of Interior Federal

We are so excited to be celebrating our 90th anniversary on Thursday, April 24th! Thank you to all the loyal members for your unwavering support and membership. We are proud to serve the Department of the Interior and closely related groups through all phases of their lives. Over the last 90 years, your Credit Union has expanded beyond the Washington D.C. region to support dedicated employees on a nationwide scale.

How fitting that our anniversary should fall on National Bring Your Child to Work Day, where the Credit Union gives kids the opportunity to learn about financial institutions and how to responsibly handle money.

When visiting a shared branch as a member of Interior Federal, the branches must verify your identity to keep your information protected. A new identification verification process called IDCheck will be implemented nationwide by May 1, 2025.

IDCheck Shared Branch is designed to verify and confirm a member's identity to effectively fight account takeover, identity theft, and in-branch fraud.

How It Works

If you bank at one of our Shared Branch locations, a teller will identify and authenticate members in-branch through a QR code and one-time passcode multi-factor authentication method. You will need a valid government-issued ID for this process to work. Please note, due to federal regulations a Military ID cannot be used.

This additional layer of authentication will be used for loan payments, cashier’s checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account inquiries.
